Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Sinnoh Electronic Pokedex Review
This particular Pokedex by Jakks Pacific (#59831) features all 151 Pokemon from the Diamond and Pearl Sinnoh Region, with fun electronic voice-overs and music featured throughout gameplay, with a twin screen and black and white display.
Mini Games Menu:
There is a good selection of games for kids, including:
1. Maze Game - Your objective is to find 10 Pokemon and escape the Sea Temple Maze. Top screen displays the maze. Using the bottom screen you choose which direction to go as it shows a moving closeup of pathways.
2. Who's That Pokemon? - In this game you have to guess what each Pokemon is by their number shown. You have a multiple choice of 3 answers, with a shadow image of each shown on top screen.
3. Which Doesn't Belong? - 3 different characters are shown one by one on top screen with numbers below. You need to work out which one isn't the same type. Even if you guess right or wrong, an explanation of each is given at the end of each round.
4. Pokemon Search, "Find the Pokemon" - You need to watch the Pokemon as they move around the screen and find where they are hiding. Each rounds gets harder, with more locations to find and memorize. One wrong move and you're out!
5. Who Would Win? - You are presented with 2 Pokemon on top screen one by one, with multiple choice answers below. You have to guess which one would have the advantage in a duel. After you choose and marked correct/incorrect, a full explanation is given of which one has greatest strength and why.
6. Pokemon Memory - You have 12 chances in this game (text displayed on top screen) to match Pokemon characters shown on bottom screen as Poke Balls. Each time you try to get a match their pictures are shown on top screen. Once you guess correctly, each pair then disappears off the bottom screen. Being a memory game fan as a kid, this was one of my favourite games.
7. Poke Ball Shuffle - Watch carefully as Pikachu hops into one of 5 Poke Balls and the balls shuffled on top screen. Use the arrow buttons to choose where Pikachu is hiding. If you guess wrong it shows where Pikachu was and asks if you want to play again.
Pokedex Menu:
Pokemon Gallery:
Features loads of useful information, consisting of all 151 Pokemon from the Diamond and Pearl Sinnoh Region. Select Pokedex from Main Menu, then "Pokemon Gallery" on menu to enter. Displayed one by one (starting from 001), with top screen displaying character image, name and number on bottom screen, listen to a voice-over description of name and type.
You can also select A to view more info, including:
View a full write-up of each character selected.
Evolution - explains with image display, what each character evolves into.
Weight and Height specifics.
Add to your collection - store your favourite characters.
Find a Pokemon:
Plenty of selection here. You can locate your Pokemon by number, letter, height, weight, type, number list, letter list, or collection. You can also add to your collection after viewing.
Options Menu:
Sound - Select volume control from 0 (no sound), up to 4 (loudest). The sound is fantastic, very clear, with female voice-overs throughout, and Pokemon themed music.
Contrast - There are 4 settings for contrast which can be changed separately on both lower and upper screens.
The other bonus is the Pokedex automatically goes into standby mode if left unattended to save on battery power.
Summary:
My Score: 8/10
Overall the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Sinnoh Pokedex is a fun and informative electronic toy, with plenty of challenges, that I would recommend for kids. Simple gameplay, easy learning curve and controls, vibrant sound, gallery and other features would provide a long lasting investment.
The screen graphics are displayed in black and white, of which I've deducted 2 points off final score, as I feel a colour screen would make this toy perfect.

Team Rocket Jessie and James (pokemon ruby pokedex)
Team Rocket. What a nice name for a bunch of silly villains. I believe that they are called that for a reason. Why? Because throughout almost every episode of the Pokemon anime or Pokemon movie, Team Rocket would fail and they would somehow or other end up being blasted off the face of the earth, and the villains would mutter, "Team Rocket is blasting off again..."
Well yes, Team Rocket may be the villains in the Pokemon world, they are actually really soft villains. Being a childrens' animation series, I would not expect them to be dastardly bad villains anyway! Sometimes, they would even gang up with the good guys, such as Ash Ketchum, Misty and Brock, whenever they are faced with a common obstacle or difficulty and only by co-operating with each other can they get out of their predicament. Yes, there is a good side to the bad guys here, and I guess the animation is trying to bring across the point of the importance of team work (maybe that is why there is the word Team in the name of the gang of the villains) and also how sometimes it may be better to work with the enemy rather than work against it.
I have not formally introduced to you the members of Team Rocket. Jessie and James are the two characters usually seen in Pokemon animation series as the bad guys from Team Rocket. Though Team Rocket is a massive organization, these two are the only persons that we see regularly on the anime series. Well, may be you can also count in Meowth, which is a talking cat Pokemon. Meowth takes after the Maneki Neko, which in Japanese means "Beckoning Cat". This cat is also known as the Welcoming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money cat, or Fortune Cat and its figure is very widely displayed at businesses to signify the takings of money. Then there is Wobbuffet. This is another cute Pokemon that does not really do anything for Team Rocket. He just springs out at the right moment and utters the word "Wobbuffet!" with one of his arms scratching his head!
Throughout the series, Jessie and James turn out all stops and try their very best to try to steal Pokemon. They usually target Ash's pikachu. However, they always eventually fail to meet their objectives and end up like I said earlier blasting off again. This is because Pikachu or some other Pokemon would give them a lightning or thunder shock attack, blasting them off the ground! So you see the bad guys in Pokemon are not so bad and cannot do much damage after all. They are just a bunch of cool fun loving characters added into the Pokemon anime to brighten things up.
Well I hope that you enjoy this post on Team Rocket Jessie and James. Perhaps you would be interested to buy Jessie and James Pokemon Action Figures? Of course you can take a look, and if you still do not like Team Rocket or Jessie and James, there are also many pokemon action figures toys available for sale on my blog. So if you want Pokemon action figures toys, you know where to buy them!
